Finding Your Voice So You Unleash Your Potential

Or Should I Say, “How To Wake Up Your Voice!”

Hey there, it’s Trish Jones.

If you’ve ever felt as though you’re not showing up in your business or life in general as the real you, or you feel disconnected from your purpose, you’ve come to the right place!

And just so you know, if you feel like this or have ever felt like this, you’re not alone. Every woman, creator, speaker, coach and writer I know have struggled at some stage with feeling as though the life and business they’ve created doesn’t truly reflect who they are, and that includes me.

But it’s great that you’re ready to discover how you can show up, and show up as you, ready to bring more you, your voice and your message to the marketplace!

What It Means Wake Up (or Find) Your Voice …

For most of our lives, many of us have learnt to act to get a reaction …

We play the game of dressing, speaking and acting in a certain way depending on who we’re talking to, and the environment we’re in.

As a result, few of us grow up to be truly authentic, knowing who we are, what we love to do and even being comfortable with admitting those things we don’t like to do.

It’s a dilemma right, because your job requires these certain skills, or you’ve trained for a particular profession, but really you have a secret passion and every now and then it drowns out every other voice in your head and takes you into an imaginary world that makes you feel so alive and vibrant that you want to live there forever.

That’s your voice speaking up!

Sadly, what most of us do when this happens is hush the giant back to sleep again because we’ve been conditioned to “keep it real” and we’ve let logic rather than our inherent hearts desires dictate our lives.

But this desire that makes you feel so alive is real, and it’s looking for a way to express itself in your life and in your business.

Notice How Oprah Winfrey and Richard Branson Do It

If you take a look at the lives of people such as Oprah Winfrey and Richard Branson, you won’t see a mask because they have given themselves permission to own and speak up from their own voice.

Richard Branson openly admits that one of the reasons he had to drop out of school was because no one understood him, he didn’t understand them and he wouldn’t conform.

So yes, neither Richard Branson nor Oprah Winfrey have a boss! But it’s their unique voice that they bring to their business and life that gives them the vibrancy that’s so evident whether they’re being interviewed on TV, interacting on social media or just going about their every day lives.

They Live Their Message

And I’m sure you want that too right?

To be a walking, talking reflection of the real you in everything you do.

Well, it’s yours for the taking.

God has already inspired you with your own gifts, talents and voice, so you can inspire others and make a difference in your world and in other people’s world.

And the process of waking up your voice is actually quite simple and begins with you giving yourself permission to be you. To speak from your own voice and being happy with who you are.

Finding your voice is accepting all that makes you unique and not allowing others to dictate who or what you ought to be.

Shel Silverstein, author of “The Voice,”  wrote:

There is a voice inside of you
That whispers all day long,
“I feel this is right for me,
I know that this is wrong.”
No teacher, preacher, parent, friend
Or wise man can decide
What’s right for you–just listen to
The voice that speaks inside.”

To me, this poem encapsulates the power of the hidden voice that’s so desperate to speak up and speak out, but has been conditioned to question it’s own authenticity.

But I believe that once you know how powerful your voice is and how it can direct the very trajectory of your life, I know you won’t want to suppress it any longer.

So welcome to your journey of discovering you and inspiring the world with your authenticity.

You can’t find your purpose until you find you and with the help of The Influential Woman Community and resources, let me be the first one to congratulate you on taking this journey.
