For you have need of patience, that, after you have done the will of God, you might receive the promise. ~ Hebrews 10:36
Oh boy … when you want an answer to prayer now, the last scripture you want to read is one about patience!
And yesterday before seeing this scripture, I was having a conversation with God that went something like this … “you did say that you’d do this thing. Why is it taking so long?”
So you can imagine my face when this scripture popped up on my iPhone screen the next morning. There was a part of me that wanted to shout “patience! How about today!” But instead I smiled because it was as though this was my answer to yesterday’s prayer … if you can call it prayer.
In His gentleness, God was telling me to keep going, be patient and as I do His will, the promise will manifest.
And I certainly didn’t want to fall into the trap of procrastinating and pausing as I had done with my Speak To Trish Podcast that I started three years ago.
When you have patience, you also have peace and when you have peace, it’s a clear indicator that you know what you’ve asked for is yours and you have the legal right to wait with expectation of the fulfilment of that promise.
Conversely fear is a robber of God’s promise …
Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. (NKJV) ~Hebrews 4:1
And the Bible says that “fear has torment,” which is why it’s impossible to be in faith and have fear at the same time.
When you know that you know that you know that you know, you continue to “do the will of God,” and “seeking first His Kingdom and His righteousness,” and as the Bible tells us, all of the other things you have need of will be given to you besides. Matthew 6:33
So there is that evidence again of the promise coming after you’ve done the will of God.
If you don’t know what the will of God is for your life, ask Him. He want’s you to live a fulfilled life but He also wants to have that relationship with you. Your answer will come out of that relationship.
Remain patient, the promise has your name on it, and is on it’s way!
Blessings,
