It’s been 11 years since I’ve had this kind of labour pains. And the last time wasn’t even when my daughter was born in 2002, but it was 2006 when I launched my Christian Women’s website.
But, this time, the labour pains were a little different and a result of finally launching the revamped Influential Woman Coaching Academy … and I’m pleased to say “it’s finally here!”
It’s my monthly Coaching Academy for women who want to connect with like-minded leaders and entrepreneurs, learn how to build their story platform and impact the world with their message.
And I’ve based the membership more around nurturing, collaboration and connecting rather than purely information giving because as far as I’m concerned, there is no shortage of information online. However, so many women embarking on their mission or starting a business find it hard because it can sometimes feel like a lonely road to success.
I wanted to change all of that by giving women a place where they could connect, learn and grow practically, spiritually and emotionally. In other words, I recognise that it takes much more than business processes to build a sustainable business and indeed a life.
Women want to feel fulfilled and I know of women who would agree that building a successful business (financially) but feeling less than fulfilled so you’re not enjoying life – you’re miserable, your family is fragmented yet you’re sitting on a pot of gold – will result in you feeling like “a public success, but private failure.”
I don’t believe anyone set out to achieve that, but when you start creating something but lose yourself or who you are in the process, this is exactly what you’re likely to end up with.
What I mean by this is that you build your life and business around the things you love to talk about, do and teach.
Look, I’m all for having a career. In fact, I’ve told my daughter that it will do her a world of good spending some time in the corporate world even whilst she’s building her business because of the exposure she will get.
And for those of you who may be in a job and consider it wasted years, don’t.
I really do believe that God is an economist, and He’s able to use all of our experiences, good and bad, and even the job and careers you’ve had are experiences that you can bring to your business. So promise me to be good to yourself … “no regrets.”
But now, if you’re thinking of starting your own business, or pursuing a mission, why would you do something you don’t like or just to make money? Isn’t this just another job? I certainly think so.
This is what every influential and successful entrepreneur does. And notice I said “influential and successful.” And that’s because…
I believe that we make the biggest impact where we have the most influence and it’s impossible to have real influence outside of your natural gifts.
So I’m not just talking money success, but impact and influence in an area where you can make a difference.
Right now, women all over the world are fearful that they don’t have a voice. That they’re given second best and there is little room in the world for women right now.
This is the type of propaganda that I want to dispel because we all have a voice, we just have to ensure we’re using it to influence and make an impact among the right people.
In a recent article, Richard Branson wrote:
The best way to get somebody to take in something you want to share – a lesson, a business pitch, anything – is to do it in the form of a story.
That’s because your story builds trust.
Your story can let your audience know that you understand their plight, so when it comes to you offering them a solution to their problem they are more likely to buy into it because you’re not just giving them another pitch, you’re giving them a reason to believe in your solution.
So despite what the media may be telling you, if you have a story, a message, a passion and the time to commit, you have what it takes to make your voice not just heard, but felt … that’s the impact I’m talking about.
And inside The Influential Woman Coaching Academy, I teach you how to use content and social media to make an impact with your message. How to value your voice and make it heard, how to make a difference in the world, starting with your story.

I personally look forward to seeing you on the inside.
Until next time,
